How can individuals help us?
Donations are the Fund’s life blood. The more money we raise, the more people we can help. If you’d like to support the Fund, there are several ways you can give money:
Donations A donation to the Fund of any amount would be most welcome. Please make cheques payable to the ‘Bankers Benevolent Fund’. Many people choose to make a regular donation by standing order. You can download a pdf supporter form here*. Membership If you would like to become a life member of the Fund, the minimum contribution is £100. Or, you could become a regular member by making a commitment to make a regular donation of at least £10 per annum (download a pdf supporter form here*). As a member you will be entitled to attend the AGM and to be consulted from time to time on the strategic direction and work of the Fund. Please make cheques payable to the ‘Bankers Benevolent Fund’. Payroll Giving Another convenient way to set up a regular contribution is to enrol in your company’s payroll giving scheme. Tax-efficient giving UK tax payers who make any form of donation to the Fund could increase the value of their contribution without any cost to themselves by completing a Gift Aid Declaration which allows the Fund to reclaim UK tax paid. There is no commitment to regular giving by completing a Gift Aid Declaration. Leaving a legacy Legacies, both large and small, make a real difference. Seven out of ten people in the UK have not made a will. With rising house prices, most people have greater assets than they imagine and making a will is good practice at any age. It also provides an opportunity to make a bequest to charity, and perhaps to give help you could not afford during your lifetime. * if you are having difficulty viewing pdf files it probably means you need to download adobe reader which you can do by clicking here
