future plans for the fund
The trustees worked with the Charity Effctiveness Team at the Cass Business School to investigate what the Fund should be doing in the 21st Century.

The conclusion reached was that we should expand our services within the banking community to help achieve an increase in our numbers of beneficiaries. The following key objectives for next year were agreed within the context of doubling the numbers of people we help:

• Continued high priority effort to identify new beneficiaries through the recruitment of a partnership development manager to establish more intensive relationships with existing banks, new banks, banking subsidiaries and bank pensioner organisations.

• Development of relationships with other social welfare charities and organisations able to direct suitable applicants to the charity.

• Production and distribution of a resource guide for bank welfare workers to assist them in identifying need and directing applicants to the BBF.

• Recruitment of two new non banking trustees to bring wider experience of the charitable and voluntary sector to the board.
Making a difference
In response to our relationships with the banks and their feedback, last year we introduced the BBF Handbook, launched our supporter Newsletter and a Support in Crisis Grant Programme. We also developed and instigated a ground-breaking partnership with the National Autistic Society to support several hundered families in the banking community - making a lifelong, positive impact on our beneficiaries.
